Marine Life Institute
Based on the sea animal rehabilitation group from Finding Dory, this area explores the world of Nemo and Dory and offers a unique experience to guests. The Marine Life Institute has set up a new facility here at Grand Disneysea to show guests some new research projects they are up to, and for some of them, they invite the guests to be a part of it! Ever wondered what lies in the deep blue sea? Well, now you can see it from a fish's-eye perspective.
When you exit out of French Harbor neat the bridge to Mermaid Kingdom, you will find a bunch of shops and restaurants themed to Finding Nemo and Finding Dory characters on the right. This includes Seashell Store, Bruce's Bites, Mr. Ray's Cafe, Big Blue World, Anemone Eats, and Fluke and Rudder's Sea Lion Store. Between Mr. Ray's Cafe and Big Blue World is the Marine Life Institute dock for Grand Disneysea Streamer Line, which will depart to London Docks.
On the left side is where you will find the key attractions. First to the left is where you can board Nemo and Friends Searider, very similar to the one found at Tokyo Disneysea. The ride exits into the Marine Life Institute Shop, where you can buy Nemo merchandise and even see a map of the Morro Bay, California facility of the Marine Life Institute, as seen in Finding Dory. Next to that is Turtle Talk with Crush.
Further up is a big plaza with a statue of Destiny the Whale Shark in the center. Around this is the Institute Cafeteria, a dining location and food court that serves lots of things (but not seafood. Fish are friends, not food.) Near that is Exploring the Seas, an interactive exhibit where you explore the wonders of the sea.

This was a good one to make. I am a big ocean guy, so I tried to make this as much as an ocean exploration place as I could. This doesn't feature real fish, for this is not a Living Seas pavilion and this is made to entertain more than educate. However, I want people, especially young ones, to come to care for the ocean with this area.

I love that you can put your passion for the ocean into something like this to help others discover how great it is too. I also love that it doesn’t serve seafood-(‘fish are friends, not food’ is so clever!) it’d be fun to have an attraction featuring Darla. 😂
