Discoveryland

North from Fantasyland is an optimistic and hopeful world of tomorrow, as seen from the past. In this land of yesterday's tomorrow, see futures imagined by people such as Leonardo da Vinci, Jules Verne, and others. Complete in grand Victorian style, this is a place with things to not be missed.

Coming in from Adventureland, you walk down a passage into the land. Two buildings are seen as you come in. On the right is Cafe Hyperion and the Discoveryland Theater, which plays Age of Creation, a 15-minute film about the evolution of the future throughout time, while on the left is Discovery Center, where you can learn how visionaries  of the past shaped the future. Taking a right, you walk down a path overlooking a lake in which Space Mountain sits in. Here on this trail you shall find Soarin' over the Horizons to the right, and after the experience, you exit into Flight Crew Cargo. At the very end of this path is the Discoveryland Station for the Disneyland Railroad, which goes to Frontierland's station from there.

Moving to the left is another path, which goes around the lake. On this side is Wonders of Tomorrow, a gift shop, Leonardo's Pizzeria, a restaurant, and Aquatopia, an attraction that goes in the lake. Further on with the border of Fantasyland is where you will find Constellations, a big store.

Taking a right, you will go into a plaza. This is where you can go on two attractions. The Orbitron is where you fly around in planetary spheres. Then, there is Space Mountain: Mission 2, a re-imagined version of the beloved attraction. The ride exits into Stargazer Store.

From there, you follow a secret passage into the crater of Mount Prometheus, a volcano in the area that is the same size as Tokyo Disneysea's Mysterious Island. In the crater, you will find a bunch of attractions, shops, and dining based on Jules Verne adventures. Captain Nemo's ship, the Nautilus, floats in the center of the crater. When you first come in, you can take a left to Vulcania Restaurant or a right to go on 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, similar to the Tokyo Disneysea version. The ride exits into Captain Nemo's Suppliers. Continuing around the crater is Nautilus Bites, where you can eat inside the Nautilus itself. On the In the opposing side the the entrance of the crater, you can go into Mount Prometheus, where you can ride Journey to the Center of the Earth, a longer version of the original Tokyo Disneysea attraction. From there, you can find an alternate passage that goes into Fantasyland.

In this park, I decided to include both a Discoveryland and Tomorrowland. They may be two different versions of the same land, with one being about yesterday's tomorrow and the other being about today's tomorrow, but I thought that they were distinct enough to co-exist with each other. Plus, I kind of like the retrofuturistic feel of Discoveryland and its old-timey attractions. I found it interesting how it's based on ideas of the future from all over history. I hope others would find it the same way.

  1. Cool area! I believe they coexist well too! I love how you can go into Mt Prometheus and see so much there. There are some best attractions I’ve never experienced before, which I’d like to.
