Film Backlot

Ever wondered what it is like to be a part of film production? Well, here is where you can go behind the scenes of movies, or watch as movies, television shows, and stage productions come to life. Not just do you get to take a peek behind the sets, but you get to join in on the entertainment universe itself.

When you enter in from Hollywood Boulevard, you go into a studio. On the left, you can eat at the Backlot Bistrot, which contains six different dining rooms themed to live-action productions. On the right, you can go to the Hollywood and Vine. Up ahead where the road splits, you can hop on a tram for the Studio Backlot Tram Tour, where you tour a film backlot and see recreated sets from Pirates of the Caribbean, Mary Poppins Returns, the live-action remakes of Beauty and the Beast, Alice in Wonderland, and Aladdin, and more.
Depending which path you take, you will find something different. If you go left, you will find Aladdin: The Musical first thing to your left, Studio Store second, and Oscar Wieners third. At the end of the lane is the theater where Fantasmic plays at night.
If you go right, you will find more entertainment and attractions. Disney Junior: Live on Stage is the first thing you come across on the right. You can also meet Disney Junior characters in the nearby Disney Junior Place. Up next on the right is an indoor Frozen area. In here are three family attractions: Blizzard Bowls, which are like the Mad Tea Party, Reindeer Spin, a carousel, and Snow Boat, a smaller version of Hook's Swinging Galleon. Also in the area is the Frozen Carriage, which transports you to Magical Fjord in Grand Disneysea. For the First Time in Forever--A Frozen Sing-Along is also in the area, along with the Frozen Spot to meet Anna, Elsa, and Olaf. Next up is the ABC Commissary, a restaurant, and Animation Academy, where you learn how to draw Disney characters. In a large building is Rock'n'Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith, a clone of the former Walt Disney Studios attraction. The ride exits into Rock around the Shop. Last to the right is the stadium where Lights, Motors, Action! Stunt Show plays. At the end of the road is the Hollywood Tower Hotel, where you can ride The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, which looks a mix between the Paris and Orlando versions. The ride exits into Tower Hotel Gifts.

Fun fact: this is the only area that doesn't connect to any other area but Hollywood Boulevard. Also, I had a debate whether or not to include the Rock'n'Roller Coaster. I was originally planning to make a Guardians of the Galaxy ride the wildest ride in the resort, which would be located in World of Wonders. I am still planning on it, but it may or may not be more wild than the Rock'n'Roller Coaster. I just added it in because I felt like I should. Also, I added in the Frozen area to appeal to families, but I feel like I may have accidentally created something lame. If the reader here likes it, then I will keep it.

  1. I love the Tram Tours and am so happy you included one here! Between that, shows, and rides, this will be a fun area!
