Greek Seashore

In the center of the park is a city of great legends. This is an area themed to Ancient Greece, and once again, you can explore both the land and sea. Inside of the mountain where Poseidon's Palace stands is where you explore his lost city, while on land, you can trace a hero's journey. This is where heroes are born and legends are told.

Walking in from Arabian Coast, you enter an Ancient Greek area based off of Hercules, resembling the city from the film. Philoctetes' Hero Supply Store is on the right, along with the Thebes Market. Behind the market is Odysseus' Trireme, a Greek ship you can ride around the oceans of Arabian Coast, Greek Seashore, Treasure Cove, Magical Fjord, and Pacific Wharf. On the left is Hercules: A Hero's Journey, a dark ride based on the film. The ride exits into Olympus Delights. You can dine at the nearby Pegasus Point.
Then, by taking a passageway, you appear in Poseidon's Kingdom, an Atlantis-resembling underwater city. Around a lava pit are shops and restaurants. Aquarius Apparel is a store while Odyssey Eats is a restaurant. Near the center of the lava pit is the Temple of the Seas, an underground rollercoaster where you zoom through the oceans. At the furthest place in the underwater city is the Trials of Poseidon, a trackless ride where you go into Poseidon's Palace and complete "trials" given by Poseidon himself, who has his look from Hercules. You end up battling several sea monsters along the way, which you can shoot with gun-like weapons. This is similar to Buzz Lightyear's Laser Battle, but much more complicated in technology. This adventure has numerous different combinations, meaning that every ride is different. It exits into Neptune's Necessities.

For those of you wondering who this glowing blue guy is, this is Poseidon. Anyways, I wanted this area to be special, unlike anything Disney has done before. I ended up seeing as themed to Greek Mythology, and it just went uphill from there. Being the heart of Disneysea, I made the big attractions based around the Poseidon myth. So he only makes cameo appearances in Hercules, but he deserves more attention in Disneysea, being the god of the sea and all. In fact, I kind of think that the Trials of Poseidon would be the conclusion to the SEA Adventure, where you explore every area and find rare artifacts. I was kind of picturing this big storyline going along with the SEA Adventure that takes you from one place to another and has you experience different attractions, but I found that a little too restricting, so I decided to have it not include the attractions.

  1. I need to watch Hercules. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen it…at least not all the way through. You’ll have to tell me some of those names. I can’t pronounce them. Lol. Temple of the Seas sounds amazing!
